The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities is a US public research university located in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, on two banks of the Mississippi River. It is the second-largest institution of higher education in the Midwest, fourth-largest in the nation, and also the oldest and largest part of the University of Minnesota system. U of M has one of the oldest programs in college-football history.
